Criminals Target Farms in Wrexham and North Wales
DSW CCTV have witnessed a recent surge in demand for security products from North Wales farmers after an increase in crime. Criminal gangs have been reportedly following oil and diesel tankers making deliveries to farms and using similar vehicles to remove the fuel immediately after.
These attacks are often made during daylight hours with criminals taking advantage when farmers are busy tending to land and livestock.
Other reports include gangs removing limited quantities of fuel over night so as to remain undetected. This allows them to make further return visits once the fuel tanks have been refilled.

The Real Cost of Farm Crime
A recent case of theft from a farm diesel tank has left one North Wales farmer facing a huge repair bill. The tank was damaged during the early afternoon raid resulting in diesel leaking from the tank onto the yard and neighbouring fields.
After visits from officials the farmer has been left facing a potential bill of upto £100,000. Nearby waterways and fields could potentially be contaminated which would require extensive cleaning.
The farmer says he must now take measures to deter criminals and prevent a repeat of this kind of problem and regrets not taking action sooner.
